Soft light on breast of new fallen snow,

winter’s cold suffused with Wolf Moon’s glow.

High above Terra, bright lunar show,

as dawn’s first faint breezes gently blow.

Yard bathed in moonlight.

After working for 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I waited my entire career for……retirement. I have been exploring this new career for the past 3+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wanted me to do has been rewarding. While I still miss the social aspect of working with a team of great people, I have managed to keep in touch with many from my former team and I have many friends and family members who now fulfill this part of my life. Now that my Patty has retired, we are able to spend more time in pursuits and with people who are near and dear to us. I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may not become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

  1. Wow, your yard, bathed in a moonlight and covered in a snow looks quite beautiful. I adore your moon photos, Allan, and if I remember correctly there’s even a specific name for those who love the moon. Just can’t remember now, might need to look it up. Thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva

    1. I think the word you are looking for is “Lunatic”, Ha Ha. I think I would fit that category out in the yard at a -30C feels like temp, taking photos of something 1/4 of a million miles away. Yup, a Lunatic, that’s me. Thanks for reading Aiva. Allan

      1. Yes, that’s one way of describing it, but the actual word is Selenophile 🙂 Ericeira is obsessed with the moon at the moment, it could be a just phase, but it gives me an opportunity to learn about it, too. 🙂

      2. There is nothing wrong with loving the moon. I am with her on that one. Ever since I got the long lens camera, I love to watch the night sky. Thanks for remembering the word. Now I can be a Selenophile and a Lunatic. 😊

    1. Thanks Crystal. I do agree. This is the best camera I have ever owned, even better than the last one which was almost the same, but with more bells and whistles. The keys are a hugs image processor, a German lens and a 50X optical zoom. Phones take awesome photos too, but digital zoom is not as good as optical zoom….yet. Thanks for reading and commenting. Hope all is well. Allan
