This guy is gonna finally stop milking this 7 day trip into something much bigger, you are all saying. Seriously, I hope you have all enjoyed these posts as much as we enjoyed our time in Jasper. Thanks for following along.

Raindrops fall like tears.

We are sad to be leaving

our mountain park home.

Raindrops on the car window, as we pull away. How lucky were we to fit in such a fair weather week? My Patty took this shot.
Patricia Lake Bungalows is number 1 in our hearts.
Memories of our vacation will linger.

Back home, things have changed in a week.

After working for 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I waited my entire career for……retirement. I have been exploring this new career for the past 3+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wanted me to do has been rewarding. While I still miss the social aspect of working with a team of great people, I have managed to keep in touch with many from my former team and I have many friends and family members who now fulfill this part of my life. Now that my Patty has retired, we are able to spend more time in pursuits and with people who are near and dear to us. I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may not become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

    1. To coin the phrase from Game of Thrones….”Winter is Coming”. Just curating the winter photos from our winter Jasper trips to get ready for a few posts. Nowhere near as long a series as the Autumn 2020. Thanks for reading Aiva and a Happy New Years to you. Allan

    1. So glad to have friends along for the travel. Glad you enjoyed the posts. September last year, we spent 4 weeks in Ireland, Italy and France. September this year, we spent one week in Jasper and it felt like a real expedition. Thanks for reading, stay well and have a Happy New Year. Allan

  8. I loved your posts about Jasper! It’s so beautiful, and makes me realize that I am definitely going to visit that area some day. As soon as a nasty little virus finally realizes that it is no longer welcome on Earth and goes off to wreak havoc somewhere else. Like, say, Mars…..or Pluto!

    1. Thanks Ann. Glad you could take this trip with me. Yes, as soon as all is safe, there is a lot of travel to be done. We will be back in Jasper in 2021 and can not wait. I will be doing a limited series of Winter in Jasper, using some of my historical photos. It has been an interesting process. Thanks for being a loyal reader and Happy New Year. Allan
