Looking out through the glass back door to see sunshine spreading over my back deck this morning, I spotted a gleam of light being amplified through our glass bauble on the table. I managed a few photos before the sunlight moved on and they gave me the idea for this post and also gave me hope for brighter days ahead, both seasonal and pandemical……..
Glimmer of Hope ©
Gazing wistfully from pandemic exile,
glimmers of light strike sad meandering eye.
What manner of hope does attempt to beguile
Covid prisoners with no tears left to cry?
Will freedom come before more pain is doled out
and how much longer will we all have to cope?
Vaccines are coming, health authorities shout,
at long last there’s at least this glimmer of hope.

After working for 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I waited my entire career for……retirement.
I have been exploring this new career for the past 3+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wanted me to do has been rewarding.
While I still miss the social aspect of working with a team of great people, I have managed to keep in touch with many from my former team and I have many friends and family members who now fulfill this part of my life. Now that my Patty has retired, we are able to spend more time in pursuits and with people who are near and dear to us.
I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may not become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

Things are well, thank you Allan. It’s weird that our weather has been so nice, though I won’t complain because I don’t like the cold. Yesterday as I was driving to work it was +1 and raining and the snow was blowing across the highway. Saturday we had a mini blizzard lol.
Hope all is well out your way! Take care!

Great to hear. Yup weird weather here too. +7 on Saturday and +5 yesterday. We actually sat out on our back deck and had an icy beverage. I am sure we will pay the price for the nice weather soon. Stay well. Allan
