September 29, 2020 – post 2 of Old Fort Point Hike
Just before our final climb up to the top of the trail, I spied a small trail up over a rocky ridge. Ever, the explorer, I clambered up and over the steep rocky ridge to see what was on the other side. As you will understand when you see the photos below, we sat here for about 20 minutes, just taking in the view.
On the Verge
High atop our rocky perch,
gaze transfixed in total awe.
Below, poplar, aspen, birch
in colours that dropped our jaws.
Pausing here, we sat a spell,
to hike on, we had no urge.
Amid autumn’s sights and smells,
we sat spellbound, on the verge.
