Arriving in Jasper prior to our 4:00 PM check in time, we headed to Jasper Pizza Place for a take out pizza. We would eat an early supper and then get our new accommodations ready for a week’s stay.
We drove out of town, up the Pyramid Lake Road and parked beside Patricia Lake for our fine dining experience. We were gob-smacked by the beauty of the lake and the fall foliage.
Some locals leave their boats and canoes chained here for the season and some are rental boats which can be booked in town.Afternoon autumn sunshine sparkles the ripples.Looking toward Patricia Lake Resort.Pyramid mountain sits behind a swath of bright fall foliage. On closer inspection, you can see the varying shades from lime green to yellow and orange. The red and grey conifers are caused by the Mountain Pine Beetle. The devastation is heartbreaking, to be sure.
After working for 43+ years (38 years 7 months with my last company), I finally got that promotion I waited my entire career for……retirement.
I have been exploring this new career for the past 3+ years and while it is not always exciting, the chance to do what I want for myself and my family instead of what my company wanted me to do has been rewarding.
While I still miss the social aspect of working with a team of great people, I have managed to keep in touch with many from my former team and I have many friends and family members who now fulfill this part of my life. Now that my Patty has retired, we are able to spend more time in pursuits and with people who are near and dear to us.
I enjoy photography, gardening, working with my hands, walking, cycling, skiing, travelling, reading and creating special photo and video productions obtained in my first pastime. I may not become wealthy in any of these pursuits, but I already feel I am rich in life experiences far beyond any expectation.

DFW is not treating me poorly. We are having a nice blast of fall this morning. Got some rain and now it’s 20F cooler than it was 6 hours ago, and it’s still cooling off. Hoping to use the firepit on the patio this weekend.
Good to hear. 14 degrees C cooler here than the norm, but supposed to be closer to average for part of next week. +9 C (48 F) is going to seem like beach weather….if only we had a beach. Stay well Scott. Allan
What a a serene and picturesque lake, Allan. Absolutely stunning views any which way you look! I love the distinctive shape of the Pyramid Mountain, too! I can only imagine how stunning it looks in the morning dew. Thanks for sharing and have a good day. Today it is nice and sunny in Sligo, and next week schools close for mid-term brake. We are planning to carve out a few pumpkins, decorate the house for Halloween and dress up as fairies. Aiva
Absolutely. Many prefer Pyramid Lake, but Patricia is our favourite (it is named after my wife, after all). Pyramid Mountain is visible from a lot of locations and hikes in Jasper National Park and you will see it appear many more times over the next posts. Gald you are getting good weather and the kids will have earned their break. -9 here this morning and going up to -6 (14 degrees less than the usual average). Hope to get out for a walk after our exercise routine. Supposed to go up to +9 here next week….I’m thinking icy beverage on the back deck. Enjoy Hallowe’en and thanks for reading Aiva. Allan
Patricia and Pyramid Lakes charmed me in the early hours of the day by their serenity and their reasonable size that the eye can encompass. The autumn colours add another touch of beauty.
Thanks Lori and I agree. I may say that this was the most beautiful we have ever seen them, but June was pretty good and so was Frb. just different. Thanks for reading and commenting. Allan
They do make a good pizza. We went there in June as they offered curbside pickup and saw no reason to change this time. Yes, the view from our “table” was pretty spectacular. Thanks for reading and commenting. Allan
We really latched onto the UK/Irish saying after our visits there, as it really does describe the condition of amazement well. Thanks for reading and commenting Ann. Allan
Looks like a great place to relax.
